There’s a great satisfaction in bagging yourself a deal, stretching your pennies, getting good value. These days it’s becoming second nature for many of us and, when it comes to budgeting, holidays can often slip down the list.
We’re here to tell you, they don’t have to!
There are plenty of ways you can make sure you get the chance to escape in 2023 – to feel the warm sand between your toes, explore a new city or stand before a magnificent monument. So go on, allow yourself to daydream about your next adventure…after you’ve read our top tips of course!
GO ALL-INCLUSIVE
Whilst they may not be for everyone, there is plenty to love about an all-inclusive holiday.
Aside from the fact that all you have to do is move the short distances from your room, to the pool, to the beach, to the restaurant, to the bar for the duration of your trip, everything is included. You’re paying up front for your room, your food, most of your drinks, flights and transfers (depending on your package) and even activities at some resorts. This means you’re unlikely to need any extra spending money, there will be no surprise expenses and it makes it much easier to budget.
TRY SELF-CATERING
Choosing the self-catering option gives you full control over the amount of money that you are spending; you are free to dabble
in those lovely looking local restaurants when you wish but also to cook for yourself with food that you pick up from food stores or local markets.
This option is particularly good if you are travelling with a group of friends or family as you can split the cost of a rented apartment or villa, share the cost of food and spend quality time together cooking and eating.
Choose somewhere with outdoor space and a barbecue and you’ve got yourself the perfect al fresco evenings!
HEAD TO ASIA
This one may seem a little out there, but hear us out. The initial outlay on the long-haul flights to destinations in Asia can be more expensive but, once you’re there, it is not only an incredible region to explore but it is also a great value destination to travel.
Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, has an established tourist trail that offers excellent value transport and accommodation that will give you access to all the sunshine, gorgeous beaches, vibrant culture and the wonderfully friendly people that you could ever need. And don’t even get us started on the incredibly delicious and low- priced food. Mmmm Pad Thai…
LET US SEARCH FOR THE BEST DEALS
Looking to book your holiday a bit further in advance can open up better deals and financial options for you to explore. Price fixes, low deposits and flexible payment schemes are all out there, just waiting to be snapped up. These let you simply pay a nominal sum to hold your place and then spread the cost of your holiday over a longer period of time, or save up to pay the balance a month or so before you go, without having to worry about the price of the holiday going up.
“For those travelling with children, keep an eye out for free child places – a great way to take a few pounds off the cost of your holiday and an easy way to spot a hotel or trip that would be extra fun for younger guests.”
TALK TO US
We would love nothing more than to delve into the vast sea of holiday options to fit in with your exact specifications. We’ll search for low deposits, and suggest that romantic adult-only all-inclusive or find a lovely villa overlooking the sea with a family-sized kitchen – all you have to do is sit back and wait in anticipation for us to come up with the goods!
So, let us know your requirements and we’ll do the rest!
